Happy Birthday Liz!

Can you believe that my baby is three years old?! She is so grown up! She is old enough now to truly appreciate what a birthday is all about: family, cake and presents! She got quite excited this year and wanted a castle cake. Not sure why, but we spent a lot of time on the internet looking up pictures. This cake looked fabulous in my head, but never really got out of the concept phase. This is the best picture, though, because it fell apart that very night and we had a 'ruin of a castle' cake... I am so glad she is just three!

Grandma and Grandpa wanted to add an extra layer of suspense before giving Liz her gift.....

A bicycle!!!!

She was SOOOOOO excited to get on that bike and the nearest shoes were these boots (ten feet further were better ones, but she couldn't wait!). She really hasn't gotten the hang of pedaling, but we are still working on it... forward and down, forward and down... (how else do you describe the motion?)

Steve and I got her an 'explorer kit' and she couldn't wait to try it all out... the 'noculars' were her favorite as she had been asking for them for weeks!

Liz also loves to clean (hope that lasts...) and she loved her cleaning set. Perhaps that might work again when she is 16... Think I ought to try it out?

For her Birthday dinner, Liz requested Piggy Pie, from her favorite book by the same name. We checked it out from the library and I would highly recommend it to anybody. We had it for the full three weeks, I still laughed every time I read it, and Liz memorized nearly every page. Find it, read it, love it.
