So, it has been a long time since our last update, and I mean a really long time! We have been in Washington for the summer, living with Steve's parents. He got a good job out there and Liz loved having Grandma and Papa 24/7. Their internet connection was less than desirable, and that is why I didn't update... (I know, excuses, excuses!)
So: here is the last 5 months in a nutshell-
moved to Washington-
got pregnant-
Liz got spoiled-
Steven turned 27!-
Liz turned two! (holy cow is she that old?)
moved back to Rexburg-
found out we are having a boy!
So, now that you are marginally up to date, here are some pictures to brighten your day:-) Lizzy's first ride on a carousel. She loves horses and was so excited to ride that she could hardly stand it. However she screamed through the whole ride, and was mostly terrified. We'll have to try again next year.

Our nephew Brenden has absolutley no fear and proved an amazing daredevil on the slip and slide. We couldn't convince Liz to go, but she got her feet wet by the end.

Liz really loved the fire that we had on the fourth of July. Actually she loved everything about the fourth, the food, the fireworks, the staying up late.

The aresenal... The Cowling men take their fireworks seriously.

Four generations! Grandma Jo, Grandma Barb, Steven and Liz. Liz adored her Grandma Jo and Grandma Jo returned the favor. Grandma Jo passed away at the beginning of August, but Liz still likes to sing about her.Four generations again! This is Grandma Charlie, Grandpa Jon, Steven and Liz. I love this shot, Liz seems to be saying "I can't believe I am related to all of these people!" She loved Grandma Charlie's house though, and quickley learned where the peanuts wer so that she could feed the squirrels.

Grandma, Grandpa and Liz...I think that papa had a huge soft spot for Liz! Who could resist a smile like that?Playing possum with Grandma and papa.

Liz and Brenden- Just look at those two and you can imagine the mischief that their combined forces could cause...

Liz loved to play with her cousins, Ashton and Becca. She thought that she was the same age as them and the same size, but adored every minute of playing with them.

Liz and Ashton climbing rocks at Deception Pass.

Daddy is so indulgent!

Lizzy turned two this summer! I can't believe that she is getting so big. She is in love with Elmo, so that is the cake she picked out.

We took Liz to the petting zoo to celebrate her birthday. She loved the goats the best, probably because the would hold still and tolerate all of her hugging and kissing. She would give them a hug and say "oh, goat!" it was really adorable.

Okay so as scary as this picture looks, it is not that bad. Liz had a 'mole' on the side of her nose, which she decided to pick at one day. It bled for hours! I put her in the tub, thinking that it would clot and then I could clean her up... fat chance.

She woke up covered in blood several times.

It was really hard to see my baby like that! We took her into the doctor and he told us it was a hemangioma (basically just a mole-like growth that is filled with blood vessels) and that it why it bled so stubbornly. Nothing serious, but it had to be removed. She tolerated it like a champ and is doing great!

holy cow that is so much blood! That would stink to wake up covered in blood. So the other day I was telling myself to remember to call you because youhad to know what you were having by that point and then the next day I got the text!! Congratulations! That will be interesting to have a boy and see how it differs from a girl. Where did Liz get all her curly hair? I liked the pictures.
